The Type 21 is a rugged, compact rifle, designed to be used by both Ivazaha and the Confederacy auxiliaries in close range environments, where the weight of a Type 28 would hinder them. The frame is built from composite materials, rather than the stamped metal construction of the Type 28. This makes it considerably lighter, combined with the smaller .300 round, make it more controllable on full automatic. The iron-sights of the Type 21 incorporate a large carry handle, and hooked under the short, flueted barrel, is folding serrated bayonet.
